چکیده
Objective: To report the outcome in terms of union cases treated with interfragmentary screw fixation displaced extra-articular metacarpal fractures. Study Design: Retrospective study. Place and Duration: The Department Orthopedic surgery, Ghurki Trust Teaching Hospital Lahore, Pakistan from January 2021 to December 2021. Methodology: During study period, a total 79 both genders aged 18-60 years unilateral fractures within 2 weeks undergoing were analyzed. A special format was designed record all data. Information like gender, age (years), side involvement (left or right) occupational details noted. Patients followed up till 16th week label at last follow up. Results: In for fractures, 49 (62.0%) male 30 (38.0%) female representing femal ratio 1.6:1. mean noted be 37.64±11.81 while 51 (64.6%) between 18-40 years. Residential status 54 (68.4%) rural. Socio-economic 43 (54.4%) low. Right involved 50 (63.3%) cases. Thirty two patients (40.5%) manual workers. Table-1 is showing socio-demographic characteristics displace At final (16th week), reported 75 (94.9%) remaining 4 (5.1%) having non-union. Practical Implications: Comparative studies are necessary further establish efficiency contemporary approaches regarding treatment Conclusion: Outcomes very good. Keywords: Interfragmentary fixation, fracture, outcome, union.

Treatment of displaced intra-articular calcaneal fractures with closed reduction and percutaneous screw fixation.
BACKGROUND Surgical treatment of displaced intra-articular fractures of the calcaneus is a standard procedure in many institutions. To avoid soft-tissue complications, several minimally invasive procedures have recently been introduced. The aim of this study was to assess the percutaneous treatment of displaced intra-articular calcaneal fractures with use of one of these techniques. METHODS A...
متن کاملExternal fixation for displaced intra-articular fractures of the calcaneum.
A minimally-invasive procedure using percutaneous reduction and external fixation can be carried out for Sanders' type II, III and IV fractures of the os calcis. We have treated 54 consecutive closed displaced fractures of the calcaneum involving the articular surface in 52 patients with the Orthofix Calcaneal Mini-Fixator. Patients were followed up for a mean of 49 months (27 to 94) and assess...

PURPOSE To assess the treatment outcome of temporary coracoclavicular screw fixation for displaced distal clavicle fractures. METHODS From January 1995 to December 2003, 30 consecutive patients with Neer type II displaced distal clavicle fractures were treated with open reduction and internal fixation using a coracoclavicular screw. The screw was removed under local anaesthesia after bony uni...
متن کاملFunctional outcome measures after displaced intra-articular calcaneal fractures.
We have devised a new scoring system using visual analogue scales (VAS) to determine the functional outcome in 15 patients with 20 displaced intra-articular calcaneal fractures, confirmed by CT. The average follow-up was 19 months. A VAS was completed separately by the patient, the surgeon and an independent assessor. It showed satisfactory agreement between observers and strong correlations wi...
متن کاملFixation of displaced subcapital femoral fractures. Compression screw fixation versus double divergent pins.
One hundred and twenty-seven consecutive patients with displaced subcapital fractures of the femoral neck (Garden Grade III or IV) all under 80 years of age and independently mobile, were randomly allocated to fixation with either double divergent pins or a single sliding screw-plate device. The incidence of non-union and infection in the sliding screw-plate group was significantly higher, and ...
